BIOGRAPHY

Born and brought up in Birmingham Stuart and his family now live in the Stockport Area.

Stuart's career outside politics has left him well qualified for the job of a Member of Parliament.

He has worked at the heart of Whitehall as a junior Diplomat in the Foreign Office, giving him experience of the way central Government works from the inside.

His experience rising up throught the ranks of one of the country's leading security companies, from security guard to managing a team of around 80 guards gave him experience of a highly competative sector of private industry.

As an Immigration Officer he worked closely with other law enforcement agencies and gained valuable first hand experience of this vitally important sector.

When running their own Café and B&B business, Stuart and his wife gained a deep understanding of the pressures faced by those who run the many small and medium sized businesses that are so important to the country's prosperity.

Inside politics Stuart has worked as an adviser to Bedford Council Lib Dems. He was Patsy Calton's campaign co-ordinator for the Cheadle constituency after her election to Parliament in 2001 with a majority of just 33 votes. Patsy Calton's majority grew to over 4000 in 2005.
