BIOGRAPHY

Martin Eakins has lived in Manchester since 1999, working as an IT specialist before taking a degree in Politics in 2002.

Martin stood in the Manchester City Council elections for the Northenden ward twice before winning on his third attempt in 2008.

His main interest inside politics is local democracy, economics and governance, having researched this area at University.

Outside politics, Martin writes articles for Christian Aid and is an active member of the urban 'emerging' church Sanctus1.
