BIOGRAPHY

Don Foster was elected as MP for the Bath constituency in the April 1992 General Election when he defeated Chris Patten with a majority of 3,768. He was re-elected in 1997, 2001 and 2005. 

Don was born in 1947 and was educated at Lancaster Royal Grammar School, Keele University (BA Hons. in Physics and Psychology) and Bath University (MA in Education).  

Don is a former President of Liberal Democrat Youth and Students and of the British Youth Council. He is a former member of the Education and Employment Select Committee. Currently Don is Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and for the 2012 London Olympics.
