BIOGRAPHY
Steven was born in Carlisle in 1975 and educated at the University of
Northumbria Carlisle Campus. His family, including his six-year-old daughter
live in the City as do many of his close friends, as such he feels a very strong
connection to the city and its people. He runs his own business from the City
and is also an elected member of the City Council and feels it would be a great
honour to represent his hometown in Parliament.
Steven has a combined
honours degree in Business Studies and Computer Based Information Systems. After
graduation he joined a US based publishing group. He spent 8 years in the
publishing industry and left in 2005 to join an IT outsourcing company where he
picked up a qualification as a Project Manager in IT projects. Steven went on to
support several major projects within the County Council, including the roll out
of a Customer Relationship Management system, assessment of several new accounts
and payroll systems and general project management.
In May 2006 he formed
his own publishing resale company based in Carlisle and represents a number of
large publishers in the engineering and computer science markets.
Steven
is aware of many local issues, which the electorate in Carlisle would be keen to
debate and discuss, during his campaign. Such issues include Carlisle
Renaissance, CNDR (Northern Bypass), the nuclear industry, loss of our
manufacturing industries and, of course, law and order.
He sees a great
opportunity for an open, honest and lively campaign. He looks forward to
representing the Liberal Democrats at the next election and hopes to be the
next MP for Carlisle.
