BIOGRAPHY

Peter Reisdorf was born in 1962 on Wirral.  He grew up in Hoylake, well known to golfers as a venue of the British Open, and attended the local grammar school.  He joined the Liberal Party shortly after leaving school.  He was also an active member of the Wirral branch of the Young Liberals and Young Liberal Democrats.

After school he worked in insurance for 15 years, before retraining in IT.  He studied both computer hardware and programming, before obtaining employment as a computer programmer.

He has stood for parliament twice before in 1997 and 2001 in Wallasey.  He was elected to Wirral Borough Council in 2000, when he won a seat in a Ward that had previously been a Conservative stronghold.  He has served for several years as the Liberal Democrat Council Group’s spokesperson on Culture.

One of Peter’s main interests is music and he was a regular listener to the late, Wirral-born, Radio One DJ John Peel.  His other interests include motorcycles (he currently owns two), computers, football (as a supporter) and the environment.
