Steve Lambert

Steve has lived in Aylesbury for 24 years and has been a Bucks Councillor for 20 years. He is known locally as 'Mayor Steve' having served as Aylesbury's mayor until May 2024.

Steve has supported Age UK Bucks Befriending Service raising £7600 last year to support this important outreach service helping support socially isolated older people.

In addition, Steve is a long serving Trustee and Ambassador for a local Youth Charity, which provides Counselling and diversionary activities for young people in the town and Aylesbury Vale.

Steve has with this charity introduced the ‘Night-Stop’ programme with DePaul UK to prevent youth homelessness as well as the innovative ‘Next Steps’ project which supports young people with a home and employment opportunities alongside learning important life skills to help them be successfully independent.

Steve grew up in South London and studied at the Open University, gaining his degree in 2005. Steve works for a charity supporting Small Businesses overcome business challenges and improve their productivity. He previously worked for the Post Office in various roles for more than 20 years.

He has served on one of Buckinghamshire’s largest local Housing Trust Board members for more than ten years and is a member of the Bucks Fire and Rescue board.

Recently Steve helped fund raise for the Florence Nightingale Hospice, based at Stoke Mandeville hospital by dancing on stage at the Waterside Theatre in ‘Strictly Florence.’ This helped raise the equivalent of over seven hundred hours’ worth of Florence nursing care in the community.
