Make a liberal future your legacy

Leave a gift in your Will to the Liberal Democrats and you will be helping build our liberal future. A gift in your Will is an investment in our Future Fund and will provide vital backing for the long-term future of our party, our values and our campaigning. We need the help of generous supporters like you to build a liberal future for Britain.

We created the Future Fund to make sure our legacy gifts have a lasting impact on our campaigns. The Future Fund will be vital to the party’s future, providing significant, steady backing for our campaigns throughout the electoral cycle.

The Future Fund will enable our MPs and candidates to redouble their campaigns protect individual rights, healthcare, education, a greener economy, our rivers and waterways and to promote a healthy economy with stronger international relations and trade.

We have partnered with Farewill to give you the opportunity to write or amend a Will online for free. Farewill is the largest will writer in the UK and allows you to write your will from home in less than 30 minutes.

How leaving a gift in your Will makes a difference

Without the incredible kindness and support of legacy pledgers, we would not be able to continue supporting the candidates and campaigns which protect the future of the Liberal Democrats.

Gifts in Wills can take many forms - they can be a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate, or the proceeds from a specific gift, like a piece of jewellery or stocks and shares.

Leaving a percentage of your estate is an approach that reduces the need to revise your will in line with inflation or other changes in value.

5% of the average UK estate, could fund a professional campaign organiser for a year to help elect a new MP or take control of a council.

10% of the average UK estate, could fund two rounds of letters to key swing voters across a council area, delivered by Royal Mail.

20% of the average UK estate, could fund a marketing plan for a target constituency for a whole year with leaflets, letters and digital advertising.

50% of the average UK estate, could fund a professional campaign organiser and marketing plan for a full five year parliamentary cycle

“After speaking with legal experts and the legacy team at Liberal Democrat HQ, I decided to change my gift to the party by leaving a percentage of my estate (residuary gift) rather than a fixed sum (pecuniary gift).

“I encourage you to do the same because it reduces the need to revise your will in line with changes to the value of your estate.”
