Blaise Baquiche
Candidate for Chelsea and Fulham
General Election - 4 July 2024
Blaise grew up in the Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea boroughs and has lived in the area most of his life.
He has a passion for the environment that has led him to work as a media consultant in the green sector, trying to foster a more informed debate on climate and environment issues.
Blaise previously worked in the European Parliament during the Brexit years, before joining the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
He left the civil service following the revelations of Partygate. This was personal for him, as he lost his father to Covid in the very week that Johnson partied in Downing Street.
“I found the Conservatives’ lack of remorse unacceptable and insulting to the countless families who suffered. I knew then that our country deserved better than this government which has made our lives immeasurably poorer.” said Blaise.
A passionate European, he has been vocal in fighting to fix our broken relationship with Europe, and says he is “appalled” by Labour’s indifference on this. To help local people and businesses, he wants to put our country back on a roadmap to rejoining the Single Market.
Most of all, he believes in fighting to restore trust for local residents who no longer feel that politicians are working hard for them, by fighting for a fair deal for Chelsea & Fulham.
“So many people have lost faith in politics. Hammersmith Bridge is still closed after six years, Charing Cross Hospital is crumbling and there are no police stations in my constituency. I want to restore trust by fighting for a fair deal for our area, proving the value of a hardworking local MP. I am the right candidate at the right time for Chelsea & Fulham."
