Andrew Pelling
Candidate for Croydon East
General Election - 4 July 2024
Andrew’s consistent guiding campaign slogan over the last 20 years has been “Putting Croydon First”.
Andrew helped 15,565 residents as Croydon Central’s MP.
Andrew knows Croydon East well having been a councillor in whole or in part of four of the constituency’s wards, its London Assembly Member and MP for 87% of Croydon East.
Andrew lives just two houses from the constituency and has lived on the Shirley Hills, Selsdon Vale and in Altitude 25.
Andrew got the BRIT school to Croydon, introduced comprehensive nursery education, persuaded Ken Livingstone to build the Coulsdon by-pass and doubled the size of the Council Pension Fund as its chair making £864.7 m in what became an outperforming Fund, the equivalent of £5,764 per Croydon household.
Andrew worked in the international bond markets in the City.
Andrew was expelled by the Croydon Labour Party after being a whistle blower at the failed Labour council and seeking governance reform.
Andrew feels that Croydon will benefit by being replaced as the progressive choice in Croydon politics after Labour bankrupted the town with a failed governance; a failed governance that Labour still exhibit.
