Dhruv Sengupta

Candidate for Feltham and Heston

General Election - 4 July 2024

Dhruv Sengupta

Dhruv Sengupta is the Liberal Democrat candidate for Feltham & Heston. Hounslow has always been a natural home for him - living just across the Hanworth border since 2007. Having studied at Tiffin School, staying on the 111 route beyond his stop was daily practice - whether it was visiting friends, or going to pick up Indian groceries with his mother on High Street, he spent his childhood in the constituency he is now running for.

Whereas other Oxford graduates looked to do whatever necessary to advance their aims of being career politicians, Dhruv stayed away from politics during his time at university. It was only after graduating and joining the workforce did he realise that he had a responsibility to get involved, and fight for what he believed in. After a year of working on the executive boards of local parties part-time to his job, he applied and husted successfully for Feltham & Heston.

Now as a 23-year-old start-up CEO, he doesn’t just understand the problems the Liberal Democrats are trying to solve, but is directly affected by them like fellow local residents. He is proud to be on the Regional Policy Committee for a party that supports small businesses like his, wants to provide more for NHS workers that he grew up with, has promised to build more housing as he and his other young colleagues are struggling to find accommodation, and is doing all it can to push for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Hounslow would benefit hugely from the same local authority support that Liberal Democrat councils like Richmond have, just across the border - Dhruv has worked directly with those local authorities, and is doing everything he can to bring that same experience to Hounslow.
