Sarah Dyke

Candidate for Glastonbury and Somerton

General Election - 4 July 2024

Sarah Dyke

Sarah Dyke is the Liberal Democrat candidate for the new seat of Glastonbury and Somerton. She lives in the constituency and can trace her farming family back more than 250 years in the area.

Since her by-election win in July 2023, Sarah has built a strong reputation as a hard-working MP for Somerset. She is a visible, effective and dedicated campaigner, whose top priorities for Glastonbury and Somerton are fixing the NHS, taking urgent action on the cost of living and safeguarding the local environment.

Sarah has been a strong voice for Somerset’s farming community in Westminster. She has called attention to the issues that matter most to farmers, including trade deals, livestock exports and the Sustainable Farming Incentive scheme, held a parliamentary debate on UK food security, and worked closely with the Farm Safety Foundation on the important issue of farmers’ mental health. Sarah has campaigned successfully to save vital rural bus routes, demanded more support for victims of flooding, and held the Government to account over sewage discharges into local rivers.

Sarah continues to serve as a councillor and was previously Somerset Council’s Executive Lead for Environment and Climate Change. She has a small flock of Shetland sheep.
