Hello, I am Duncan Dunlop, and I am standing to be your Liberal Democrat MP for East Lothian at the General Election on 4th July 2024.

My family has lived in East Lothian for generations. Born on a hill sheep farm, I now reside in Dunbar with my wife and our two children, who attend local schools.

I want to be your MP because I genuinely care about our community and believe that effective government can enhance everyone’s lives. I have dedicated my life to helping vulnerable children worldwide, promoting democracy, addressing poverty, and building peace. For the past fifteen years, I have been the CEO of a charity improving the lives of children in care in Scotland.

Too many politicians lack the skills and experience to deliver on their promises. Bureaucratic systems are failing our most vulnerable. This must change.

We cannot help those in need without a thriving, environmentally-friendly economy that supports small and medium-sized businesses. We need schools that prepare children for an ever-changing world, where teachers have autonomy and support. Our healthcare system must be accessible, ensuring community hospitals in Dunbar and North Berwick remain open, especially for end-of-life care.

East Lothian’s stunning coastline and the Lammermuir hills are treasures that must be preserved. Proposed green energy projects like offshore wind, solar and battery storage should provide greater benefits to local communities.

With a successful track record as a Chief Executive, I consistently deliver progressive solutions on budget and on time. I have earned respect from diverse groups, from advising government ministers to coaching rugby and camping with kids in care.

As your MP, I will fight for a better deal for our community. I understand our local concerns and have the drive, experience, and skills to serve you effectively. Please support my campaign and vote for me on July 4th.
