Chris Northwood
Candidate for Manchester Central
General Election - 4 July 2024
Chris has made her home in Manchester City Centre and works in Manchester's tech sector. She was elected to Manchester City Council to represent Ancoats & Beswick and made history as the city's first openly trans councillor. She is also the deputy leader of the Manchester Liberal Democrats.
In addition to her council role and local campaigning activity, she also works for a national charity as a software engineer, building websites that provide support to those in need.
As a councillor she's seen first hand how Labour take our city for granted, and as a councillor she's led campaigns for road safety to stop rat runs down local streets, turned round years of Labour neglect and got the basics right on issues such as keeping our streets clean and sorting out incorrectly issued parking fines. She loves the city she lives in and has a record of working hard to make it a better place to be, rather than taking it for granted.
