Luigi Gregori

I was very much a career professional soldier, serving between 1976 and 2012 in a variety of command and staff roles including logistics, intelligence, operations, and IS programme management. After spending time at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, tours of duty included the UK, Falklands, Belize, Germany, Italy, USA and the Former Republic of Yugoslavia. I left as a Colonel.

I joined the party in 2015 after being annoyed by not having a Lib Dem to vote for at the local elections. Following co-option to the Andover Town Council some months later, I have been a member of that council since then with the exception of a seven month gap. When standing for council at borough and county level, I have progressively increased our vote share. Last year I managed to get elected to Test Valley Borough Council for Andover Harroway.

Aside from leading the town council Lib Dem group, I have been heavily involved in supporting the local parties and branches, especially in campaigning activities. I am an approved candidate and in 2019 at short notice stood as PPC for NWHants. We doubled our votes. The highlight of the count was pushing an expectant Labour into third place and reversing years of decline. Since then, I have acted as the Parliamentary Spokesperson. This has allowed me to bring continuity and act as a focus for constituency campaigning efforts and increasing our party’s profile.
