Rob Colwell

Candidate for North West Norfolk

General Election - 4 July 2024

Rob Colwell

Rob Colwell is a partner in a Norfolk firm of solicitors specialising in family law. Now 42, he has lived in King’s Lynn since the age of five and knows the constituency well. In his charitable work for Round Table and Rotary he has tried to help many of the the more disadvantaged groups in the local community.

As an elected county councillor and borough councillor he has already gained considerable political experience and is now the Chair of the Liberal Democrat Official Opposition on Norfolk County Council.

Rob’s central message to voters in this election is the importance of restoring public services which have been allowed to fall into disrepair under recent Conservative governments. Difficulties in arranging GP appointments, shortages of local NHS dentists, endless delays in rebuilding an obsolete hospital with a collapsing roof, excessive sewage discharges into local rivers and the sea, repeated local flooding in some communities and declining standards of social care all point to the decay of the vital civic infrastructure on which we all rely.

As an elected local councillor Rob has come to realise that the solutions to these problems lies not with local government but at national level. If elected, tackling these issues at Westminster will therefore be his number one priority.
