Lisa Nash

Candidate for Stevenage

General Election - 4 July 2024

Lisa is a midwife and a lecturer so has excellent insight into the difficulties that NHS staff face. Lisa passionately believes in the value of education and that every child deserves the best start in life to reach their potential. Being a carer of a child with special needs means that Lisa has faced the challenges that other parents with special needs children face on a day-to-day basis and the struggle to get their children’s voices heard and educational and social needs met.

As a midwifery educator, Lisa has the insight and understanding of the issues that students and universities face around finances and funding. She believes passionately that there should be no financial barriers for people undertaking healthcare training. Recognising the public health crisis in maternity units, Lisa is committed to ensuring that the challenges are resolved, that midwives are enabled to deliver the high quality care that they want to and that every woman deserves.

Having been a police special for many years Lisa is an advocate of the police service who she recognises have been massively impacted by underfunding which needs to be addressed so our crimes are solved.

Lisa has a proven track record as a campaigner, first becoming involved in politics after she saved the only pub in her village for the community to enjoy. She has led many community initiatives and has recently been endorsed as a Green Lib Dem and is now asking residents to join her with her environmental pledge to take small steps to make a real difference to the local community.
