Ruth Gripper

Candidate for Truro and Falmouth

General Election - 4 July 2024

Ruth Gripper

Ruth is standing to represent her home, having been born and brought up in Perranwell Station in the heart of the constituency. She lives in Falmouth and works on an environmental research project on Penryn university campus. Ruth is passionate about Cornish culture and heritage and is a volunteer trustee at the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro.

Ruth worked for many years in the charity sector, and it was this experience which prompted her to get more involved in politics. She felt that too often, people’s voices were not heard by those in power and charities were left picking up the pieces where policy and politics had let people down.

Ruth’s top priorities are to fight for our struggling NHS, protect our natural environment and ensure more housing is available for local people.

Ruth has the experience needed to get things done in Westminster, having previously worked for the mental health campaigner, Lib Dem MP and health minister Norman Lamb. She is passionate about Cornwall and determined to stand up for people in Truro and Falmouth and give them the representation they deserve.
