Ian Rex-Hawkes

Candidate for Uxbridge and South Ruislip

General Election - 4 July 2024

Ian Rex-Hawkes

Ian is an engineering graduate of the University of Cambridge, which has influenced his love of problem solving. He is a Chartered Financial Planner as his main job, giving him a very solid basic for discussing economics, and he dabbles in photography and public speaking. Ian used to teach a martial arts club on a voluntary basis, but has had to give that up since a fungal brain infection left him disabled. Nevertheless, this led to a very strong desire to give something back to the community and see others benefit from his efforts. He is married with a four month-old son, so is currently both tired and deliriously happy, but it has also refocused many of his views on education, healthcare and family benefits.

We need real change, and neither the Tories nor Labour are willing to make the changes that the country sorely needs. Our local hospitals, including Hillingdon Hospital, are falling apart and the staff are overworked and underpaid. Our waterways, including the Colne, are becoming clogged with sewage while water executives pay themselves enormous bonuses. Our energy bills have gone through the roof because we refuse to invest into our plentiful renewable power resources as a country.

We need change, and we are the party to deliver the change that Uxbridge & South Ruislip and the whole of the UK sorely needs.
