Toni Brodelle

Candidate for Wycombe

General Election - 4 July 2024

Toni lives with her family in High Wycombe, where she has spent most of her life. She has been a teacher and senior leader in education for over 27 years, supporting the learning, wellbeing and empowerment of children and young people, specialising in supporting children and young people with additional learning and wellbeing needs, and is also qualified as an instructor in First Aid for Mental Health and Youth Mental Health.

Toni has seen what is happening in our community, our political system and our world and cannot stand by and do nothing. Far from being simply another career politician, Toni is a Wycombe resident, rolling up her sleeves and committed to making a positive impact in her community and beyond. She is a member of Together of Education, and was founding trustee of Wycombe Refugee Partnership. She also won both Community Champion and Hero of South Bucks Awards for her PPE project during the Covid19 pandemic, which saw 35,000 pieces of PPE reach frontline medical and care staff, and many lives saved.

Toni has seen first-hand the difficulties the cost of living crisis, chronic underfunding of our essential services and the climate crisis are bringing to our community, and she firmly believes that now more than ever, we need elected representatives prepared to stand up and fight for a fair deal for their communities and our world.

A dedicated advocate for humanity, democracy and human rights, Toni is a member of the House of Lords task group on human rights and the Middle East, and advises on issues relating to war crimes, particularly in relation to Palestine and Syria. She is a member of LibDem Friends of Palestine, and sits on the Council for Christian-Muslim Relations. She is a staunch advocate for the huge sense of compassion, kindness and humanity within our communities and believes in the power of engaging this for positive social impact.

Passionate about raising engaged young changemakers to lead our world to a more peaceful, compassionate, sustainable and tolerant tomorrow, she is also the creator of wellbeing and global empowerment programmes for children and young people. She campaigns regularly on education issues, specifically funding cuts, teacher workload, wellbeing and appropriate support and provision for children with SEND.
