We need a Domestic Abuse Bill to protect survirors
Currently, there is no specific offence of domestic abuse in England and Wales. This has to change.
Many domestic abusers are convicted with offences like Common Assault or Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH). This means that many are eligible for the government’s early release scheme - and some are being released as a result. England and Wales need a Domestic Abuse Bill that ensures that convictions set out stipulate the specific nature of the crime.
The Government is putting domestic abuse survivors’ safety at risk.
Passing this bill will protect survivors of domestic abuse.

I’m backing the Domestic Abuse Bill to protect survivors of domestic abuse.
