Lib Dems to release Nick Clegg Carly Rae Jepsen video if Ed Davey reaches Christmas number one

EMBARGO: IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Liberal Democrats have promised to release the video of Nick Clegg singing Carly Rae Jepsen, if Bath Philharmonia and Ed Davey’s Christmas single makes it to number one.

The campaign video of Nick Clegg’s recreating the famous Carly Ray Jepsen’s hit single ‘I Really Like You’ was recorded back in 2015 but has never been released before.

In the remake of the music video, the former Liberal Democrat Leader played the role of Tom Hanks, walking down the street singing the lyrics to the famous track.

The Liberal Democrats have now said they will release the video if Bath Philharmonia Young Carers’ choir feat. Ed Davey’s single ‘Love is Enough’ reaches Christmas Number One on Friday.

Ed Davey and the Bath Philharmonia Young Carers’ Choir are raising awareness of young carers at Christmas time, with a single written by six young carers and former young carers. All profits will go to the Carers Trust and Bath Philharmonia.

A Liberal Democrat spokesperson said:

“Christmas is a time for giving, and this year the Liberal Democrats are fully embracing the festive spirit. If Ed and the young carers make it to Christmas Number 1, we will finally release the infamous Nick Clegg Carly Rae Jepsen video.

“We know this is something many people would really, really, really like to see. So we are asking everyone to spread the word, download the single and make it not one but two Lib Dem leaders singing and dancing on our screens this Christmas.”
