Jenrick and Farage: Not even a week on from Local Elections it is more Conservative chaos

9 May 2024

EMBARGO: Immediate Release

Responding to former immigration minister Robert Jenrick saying that he "would not oppose" Nigel Farage coming back into the Conservative party, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper MP said:

"Voters in the Blue Wall will be appalled that Conservative politicians think the route to reviving their party’s political fortunes is by aligning themselves with the divisive politics of Nigel Farage.”

"Voters made clear at the local elections that they are sick of sleaze, scandal and the carousel of Conservative chaos. Not even a week on and we are just seeing more of the same."

"Rishi Sunak needs to find his backbone and rule out Nigel Farage joining the Conservative party. His continuing failure to do so just shows how weak he really is."
