"Rock bottom" for Sunak as he rules out stepping down

Responding to the news that Rishi Sunak has said he will not step down before polling day, Liberal Democrat Local Government spokesperson Helen Morgan said:
"This is rock bottom for Rishi Sunak. A Conservative leader having to rule out resigning before election day shows that the wheels have completely come off the Conservative campaign.
"The British people don't have long to wait now until they have the chance to vote to end this Conservative chaos. In many seats across the country, the only way to do that is to vote for the Liberal Democrats."
