Sunak: Refusal to back NHS funding boost is "shameful"
Responding to Rishi Sunak's morning round where he refused to back calls for an NHS funding boost, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader and Health Spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:
"Ruling out new funding for the NHS in the crisis of a lifetime is not just shameful but utterly out of touch. But the wider problem is Rishi Sunak just doesn't seem to have a plan.
"If we are to avoid the complete collapse of the health service, it should be clear as day that we need more funding to pay for fair pay and a solution to the social care crisis.
"The Prime Minister should be working day and night to find a solution to end the strikes, not hitting the airwaves ruling out vital support and real solutions."
