The Paired Constituency consisting of the current constituencies of Cardiff East and its pair (Cardiff North or Cardiff South)
 

The Local Party of Cardiff invite applications for selection as Prospective Welsh Liberal Democrat Party List Candidate for the Paired Senedd Constituency of Cardiff East + 1 other (Cardiff N or Cardiff S) for the 2026 Senedd Elections. The exact pairing will not be known until March and it has been decided to go ahead with a membership list of all members in Cardiff E, Cardiff S and Cardiff N all eligible to vote.


Closing date: 12.01pm 31st January 2025.

The Constituency Profile, Selection and Scoring criteria, Draft Candidate Compact and Application form can all be obtained from the Returning Officer on request.


Candidates must be on the Federal Approved list or be booked on a Candidate Assessment Day and have signed the latest Code of Conduct within the last 6 months (Ask RO for one if not). It should be noted that under Welsh Law only people living in Wales can be put onto the Party List Nomination Papers in 2026.


It is the responsibility of applicants to check that their applications have been received by the Returning Officer by the closing date. Candidates who are not yet on the Approved Candidates’ List should inform the Returning Officer.
