The Scottish Liberal Democrats invite applications for selection as Prospective Scottish Parliamentary Candidate for the Highlands & Islands Regional List. 

Scottish Liberal Democrat Parliamentarians presently hold both the Shetland Holyrood and Orkney Holyrood seats, the Orkney & Shetland Westminster constituency as well as Inverness, Skye & West Ross-shire and the Caithness, Sutherland & Easter Ross seats.

We seek candidates with the drive and ambition to maintain the delivery of the Lib Dem message and provide the support and championship required on local and national issues.*

Applications must be received by the Returning Officer by 4pm on Tuesday, 22 April 2025.

It is the responsibility of applicants to check that their applications have been received by the Returning Officer by the closing date.

Applicants not currently on the Party’s list of Approved Candidates may apply if they are actively seeking approval. The Returning Officer can explain the approval process.

*The Scottish Party agreed at Autumn Conference 2024 that the top position on this Regional List would be reserved for a female candidate.
