Charlotte Cane MP is seeking a highly capable and committed Administrative Manager to
join her team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Charlotte’s work as a strong
local champion for her community.
Duties include:
- Supervise the caseworker team.
- Engage professionally, confidentially and with care and integrity with members of the public, through a variety of methods.
- Manage administration for regular constituency surgeries and other, ad-hoc constituency events.
- Compilation of briefing packs.
- Exposure and management of complex cases.
- Deal with complex queries and complaints on the MPs’ behalf, including drafting and signing letters, responding to social media, phone and email enquiries, as well as managing face to face queries and complaints. Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Provide executive support to the MP and interest groups as required.
- Assist in writing external communications including speeches.
- Provide administrative management in relation to MP’s expenses scheme via IPSA Online.
- Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with the data protection legislation.
- Resource and project management responsibilities.
- The role may require occasional travel and work outside normal hours.
Essential Skills and Qualities
- Experience supervising a team.
- Strong organisational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proactive, professional, and compassionate in engaging with the public and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive, confidential information.
- Knowledge of data protection legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in administrative or parliamentary roles.
- Knowledge of the constituency.
- Familiarity with Caseworker MP software, and/or CRM systems.
