Campaign and Volunteer Organiser for Henley and Thame Lib Dems

Responsible to: Henley and Thame Local Party

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 pa pro-rata dependent on experience

Benefit: 8% Employer’s Pension Contribution

Hours: Minimum 24 hours per week including some weekend and evening work

Location: Across the Henley and Thame Constituency, with a desk at the constituency office in Chalgrove.

Description: Primary Tasks

  • Take overall responsibility for the Campaign Plan working with our Campaign Team.
  • Build and manage a structured team of constituency volunteers for year-round campaigning in all parts of the constituency.
  • Take charge of literature design and print, working with HQ templates and the Oxfordshire Print Society in Abingdon.
  • Regular liaison with the Regional and HQ campaign team and the other Oxfordshire campaign staff
  • Build a good working relationship with MP Freddie van Mierlo and the local party executive and campaign committee.


Secondary Tasks

  • Build campaigning and organisational capacity – including recruiting members, helpers, deliverers and poster sites.
  • Take charge of constituency emails at all levels using Targeted Mail.
  • Take charge of phone banking using Connect.
  • Take charge of delivery management using Connect.
  • Take charge of the doorstep communication plan and monitor progress.
  • Supporting fundraising and assisting with fundraising campaigns.
  • Attending relevant conferences, training and other meetings.

Person Specification:

The following criteria are considered essential:

  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers.
  • Exceptional personal organisation.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, self-motivating and able manage own workload.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and sympathy with the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats.
     

Preferred: 

Experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher & Connect) – training will be provided as needed.
