Job Title: Campaign Assistant

Working For: Bath, Frome & Wansdyke Liberal Democrats

Location: Bath

Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 depending on experience

Length of Contract: 12 month-contract, with the expectation of extension

Contract: Full Time (40 hours a week) - Part Time/Job Shares considered

Managed by: Head of Campaigns

An exciting role has arisen for a talented candidate to work on campaigns in one of the Liberal Democrats most successful local parties. Our local party spans three council groups, and elected two MPs in the 2024 general election and has a significant majority on Bath and North East Somerset Council, with 41 councillors.

Your role will be ‘hands on’ and require you to have a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn the huge range of skills involved in political campaigning. Your duties will vary, but will assist our Head of Campaigns to plan and execute all aspects of our local and national campaigns, from leading and supporting canvassing teams, organising volunteers, producing and delivering campaign literature, using our sophisticated suite of digital campaign tools and supporting VIP visits and other events.

A key element of your role will be helping to build teams and capacity ahead of the 2027 local elections and helping deliver the campaign plan.

Campaign Assistant Responsibilities:

The Campaign Assistant for Bath, Frome & Wansdyke Liberal Democrats will be responsible for supporting the party’s campaigning in the area.

• Working with our three Council Groups and two MPs to organise campaigning activities
• Recruitment and development of volunteers
• Literature production and delivery
• Assisting with our social media campaigns and content creation
• Working with Councillors and Candidates to identify key and develop campaigning issues

Essential Skills:

• Ability to thrive in a busy working environment with a range of responsibilities
• Strong communication, motivation and influencing skills to work with councillors, candidates, volunteers and MPs
• Strong project management skills

Work Pattern:

Flexible working will be expected in this job. There will be the need to work longer hours at certain times in the political calendar.
