Job Title:              Campaign Organiser (Chesham & Amersham)

Responsible to:  Campaigns Manager (South Central)

Salary:                  Up to £28,000 p/a (or part-time equivalent)         

Hours:                   Full time (37.5 hours per week) or Part Time TBD - will include some evening and weekend work

Tenure:                 Permanent

Location:              87 High Street, Chesham HP5 1DE - some home working may be possible. Some travel around the local party area will be required.

Job Details

Chesham & Amersham became a Lib Dem seat in Sarah Green’s spectacular by-election win in 2021 and was successfully held by Sarah in July 2024. 

We need an enthusiastic Campaign Organiser to help build and develop our local party team of volunteers so that we can:

·  Win many more seats in the Buckinghamshire local election in May 2025

·  Make Chesham & Amersham a long term safe Liberal Democrat seat at Westminster.

 

 

Key responsibilities

Work with both the Campaigns Manager and the local party on:

● Volunteer recruitment

● Volunteer mobilisation

● Volunteer management

● Leading volunteer teams on campaigning activities (doorstep, online, telephone and delivery)

● Ensuring the achievement of constituency campaign plans – taking part as a campaigner where needed

 

Essential skills and traits 

● You’re friendly, warm and have plenty of enthusiasm, which you transmit to volunteers and colleagues

● You know how to get things done, hot on deadlines, problem solving and can manage multiple projects simultaneously

● You can motivate others to get involved. You might already have experience of recruiting, managing and training volunteers.          

● You're an effective communicator and have good networking skills, you are a good team player and leader and like to keep the team informed.

● A natural self starter who can work alone with minimum supervision,

● You are resilient to a high-pressure environment especially during election campaigns.

● You're organised enough to prioritise and manage lots of simultaneous demands from your manager, other volunteers and volunteer campaign teams

● You must be competent with technology and willing to learn new software - especially data related tools, social media tools and graphic design

● You are willing to learn new skills and knowledge

● You are aware of, understand, and appreciate the values and objectives of Liberal Democrats and not be a member of any other UK party.

 

Useful skills

● Digital design and publishing

● Knowledge of website design and maintenance

● Microsoft office applications with specific skills in mail merge and excel usage

● Experience of organising community or team activities

● You have a full driving licence and access to a car
