The Scottish Liberal Democrats have a long history of success in Edinburgh. We are now looking for a dynamic campaign organiser to be a key part of our team, supporting our campaign activities, members, volunteers, and elected representatives in Edinburgh North, particularly helping our candidate in the newly created Edinburgh Northern constituency be elected as an MSP in May 2026.
The Campaign Organiser will be the lynchpin of our campaigns in the area, helping us to deliver success as the party aims to gain the top target seat of Edinburgh Northern. It’s a great opportunity to take on a high profile campaigning role with one of the most ambitious local parties in Scotland.
Job Description
• Take overall responsibility for delivering the agreed constituency campaign plan.
• Building campaigning and organisational capacity – including recruiting members, donors, deliverers and poster sites.
• Building and managing a team of constituency volunteers who oversee all aspects of capacity building and campaigning.
• Designing and delivering an ongoing programme of doorstep communication with voters.
• Assisting with the design, production, print, and coordination of the delivery of campaign literature.
• Maintaining relevant databases e.g. deliverers, donors, poster sites etc.
• Organising events e.g. action days, social events, etc.
• Maintaining and updating social media, website and other digital infrastructure.
• Supporting fundraising and assisting with fundraising campaigns and events as required.
• Attending and helping at relevant conferences, training and other meetings as required.
Personal Specification
The following criteria are considered essential:
• Exceptional personal organisation.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers.
• Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, self-motivating and able to manage own workload.
• Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and sympathy with the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats.
• Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
The following criteria are desirable:
• Experience in delivering effective Liberal Democrat campaigns.
• Experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher, NationBuilder & Connect)
• Understanding of GDPR, data protection and regulations relevant to political campaigning
The post is full time – 37.5 hours per week
