Salary: In line with IPSA payscales
Length of Contract: 6 months initially, with a view to being made permanent thereafter
Job Details
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Critically analyse patterns of enquiries and articulate the findings in reports and communication with the MP and other staff members.
- Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face to face in a timely manner.
- Deal with large quantities of casework in a timely manner, drafting responses to constituents, gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases, and liaising with the team or external organisations to resolve cases.
- Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
- Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation
- Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP
- Accompany and assist at constituency visits, meetings, surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
- There will be a requirement for the role holder to occasionally work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work, with agreement.

- Excellent time management and multitasking skills;
- Capacity to manage a high and complex workload;
- Ability to work effectively in a small team;
- Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
