Executive Assistant (part time)

Working to the Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson in the House of Lords
We’re looking for an Executive Assistant to support the Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson in the House of Lords. If you are highly organised, politically aware, and passionate about health issues and policy, this role may be for you.
 

Title: Executive Assistant to the Lib Dem Health Spokesperson in the Lords

Responsible to: The Lib Dem Health Spokesperson in the Lords

Renumeration: Up to £7500 to the end of 2025

Hours: Up to 16 hours a week (up to 2 days)

Tenure: Contract until the end of 2025, with the possibility of extension

Location: Whilst some of the work can be home-based, you will be required to be in Westminster some of the time.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the Lib Dem Health Spokesperson in the Lords and the wider team of peers who work on health-related matters
  • Monitoring parliamentary business
  • Preparing briefings for health-related debates, statements and parliamentary questions
  • Keeping the team up to date on key, current health-related issues in the news cycle
  • Liaising with key stakeholders
  • Managing diaries and coordinating meetings

Person specification

The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience in health care settings or health policy with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced political environment. Strong organisational and administrative skills are needed, along with exceptional interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have good political judgment and a commitment to the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.
