Job Details
Reporting to the MP the role carries overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the Constituency Office including budget, line management of all constituency based staff and leading and maintaining a highly professional support function.
Specific responsibilites include recruiting and managing the team, identifying training and learning opportunities.
Ensuring the Constituency Office is fully equipped and secure.
Managing the MPs diary and constituency commitments and delegating as appropriate.
Managing Casework and Research taking ownership where appropriate
Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership and strategic thinking having managed a diverse group of people. They will need to be results oriented able to take the initiave and plan for the future.
Experience should include managing a team within a budget, mentoring staff & problem solving. An interest in and knowledge of Local and National Politics would be a huge advantage together with being able to demonstrate an understanding of the workings of government in the UK
Current use of Word, Excel and Powerpoint are vital together with the willingness and ability to work outside normal office hours.
