Salary: Up to £30K depending on experience

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Location: Lib Dems HQ, Westminster, London SW1P & Home Based
Purpose of job
You will support the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Services department by managing the administration and contributing to the processes in these areas. With a primary focus on the People Team and payroll processing, you will coordinate and maintain our communications channels, systems and data management offering high quality customer service to the wider Party.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, in collaboration with the People Manager.
- Coordinate benefit schemes such as childcare vouchers, cycle loans and reward schemes, point of contact for queries and administrative duties.
- Prepare, collate, and verify monthly payroll data including starters, leavers, contractual changes, and deductions. Ensure accurate and timely submission to the People Manager and Finance team.
- Manage various shared Inboxes resolving queries, signposting and escalating when appropriate, offering high quality service to the Party.
- Flexibly and proactively support Managers to ensure their needs are met throughout the recruitment process, guiding them in line with the Recruitment Toolkit.
- Maintain and update HR and payroll systems with accuracy, ensuring compliance with data protection legislation.
- Coordinate internal wellbeing activities across the organisation using internal platforms to engage and communicate.
- Coordinate and promote significant periods relating to People internally e.g. (Mental Health Week, Learning at work week, Religious Holidays, Pride Month, Black History Month, International Women's Day etc)
- Provide administrative support to the wider Corporate Services team, including Finance, IT and Office management. contributing to cross functional initiatives as required.
- Be integral in providing and growing a customer service approach across the Corporate Services team to the wider Party.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Proven experience in HR and payroll administration, with excellent organisational and coordination skills.
- Solid understanding of UK payroll processes, employment legislation, and statutory requirements.
- Demonstrable experience working with sensitive data, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to GDPR.
- Knowledge of recruitment processes and confidence supporting hiring managers through best practice procedures.
- Good ability to plan engagement activity over the medium to long term.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to different working styles and build relationships across all levels.
- Comfortable working independently, using initiative and sound judgment in sensitive or complex situations.
- Proficient in using modern office software (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace) and HR/payroll systems.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Proven ability to work in HR, payroll and recruitment databases.
- Experience working for a not for profit organisation.
- A commitment to the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.
