Salary: £51,014
Contract: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Flexible, with substantial travel required
Purpose of the role
You will make sure our corporate services functions are effective, efficient and meet legal and other requirements.
You will make sure staff feel part of a focused, supportive and engaged team.
You will offer expert advice and support to colleagues and the wider party on technical corporate services issues, including finance and HR matters.

Are you an experienced professional with a passion for driving organisational excellence? The Liberal Democrats are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee and enhance our corporate services functions, ensuring they are efficient, compliant, and supportive of our mission.
About the Role
This pivotal position will lead critical functions, including finance, HR, IT, and office management. You will play a key role in strategic planning, staff engagement, and safeguarding while providing expert advice across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, you’ll manage a diverse team and collaborate with stakeholders to drive growth and electoral success.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management, including budgets, reporting, and compliance.
- Lead and implement HR strategies covering policy, recruitment, L&D, and employee relations.
- Act as the safeguarding lead for the organisation.
- Drive strategies for office management and hybrid working arrangements.
- Foster a supportive, engaged, and high-performing team culture.
- Manage payroll, health and safety, and key organisational projects.
About You
We’re looking for a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing corporate services. You’ll need:
- Strong financial acumen to manage a £5m+ budget.
- HR leadership experience in a 60+ person organisation.
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
- Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.
Desirable Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, or MCIPD qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with volunteers and understanding their needs.
