Job Title: Campaigns Manager (UK Special Projects)

Responsible to: Head of Special Projects & Field Resources or Deputy Head of Field Resources as appropriate to the project

Salary: £42,565 per annum 

Benefit: 3% Employer’s Pension Contribution 

Tenure: Permanent 

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week 

Location: Home based, with occasional travel

Purpose of job 

Working across all teams in Lib Dem HQ, your role will be to lead and coordinate Liberal Democrat campaigning targeted at identified areas. As the Project Lead, you will lead on message development, ensuring we have the research, resources, and training available to run our targeted campaigns.

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Own and lead the project to develop clear specific and timelined objectives, then supporting campaign plans, core message scripts and campaign resources 
  2. Lead party liaison with internal stakeholders and party groups in order to develop, secure buy-in and deliver your project
  3. Coordinate appropriate research, media and Parliamentary activity for your project
  4. Work with colleagues in the Field Resources team to produce regular template materials, campaign kits, and training materials for your project and colleagues in the Media team to produce regular template press materials for your project
  5. Create networks of interested groups / local parties within the Liberal Democrats for your project and drive awareness and takeup

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

We are looking for someone who can work independently and proactively without supervision. You will need to be highly motivated and possess exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills to coordinate with a range of stakeholders, volunteers and staff to deliver your project aims. 

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Experience of fighting elections at multiple levels, in different areas of the UK - including against both Labour and the Conservatives
  • Strong political messaging skills and experience
  • A clear understanding of how to engage with members and voters
  • Campaign management experience
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats

Desirable Skills and Experience 

  • Experience working with local, regional and national media
  • Understanding of Parliamentary processes and procedures
  • Understanding of local government and council budgets and processes
  • Confidence with data, CRM and digital campaign tools
